My back line runs into the Apalachicola National Forest. Does that change the job?
It changes the survey question more than the machine work. National forest closes in on the north and the west here, and plenty of tracts are boundary parcels, so the line is not always where an old fence or a two-track suggests. Can I clear right down to the Sopchoppy River?
Some of it, carefully, and mulching usually suits that ground better than grubbing. The state paddling trail runs about fifteen miles between high, narrow limestone banks, past twisted cypress and white sandbars — good country, and hard ground for anything that wants to dig. A mulching head takes the standing growth and leaves the root mass holding the bank, which is generally what you want on a river edge.
